Pathetic Losers
I'm talking about the mainstream music industry, of course.
Ooh, U2 wins more Grammys than Mariah Carey? How edgy! How daring! They really went out on a limb this year and finally gave U2 the recognition that has eluded them all these years.
Oh wait, not only did they "win" their 20th Grammy, they won for "How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb", which also "earned" them three Grammys last year.
How lame is that? Can anyone imagine Tom Hanks winning 20 Oscars? Or the Academy deciding to give "Return of the King" five more awards, just because?
The only bright spot I can see is that The White Stripes won Best Alternative Album for their subtle, amazing, and totally underappreciated "Get Behind Me Satan".
