Rise of the machines

Doesn't this just seem like something from one of those movies like Robocop, or Terminator, where some company invents a high-tech machine it says will be used for benign purposes, only to then see said creation run amok, gobbling down small children and the elderly?

"The machine's nerve center is an intelligent computer system."

It has a feature called the "Total Machine Control" system.

It has a chainsaw mounted on a reticulating arm, for God's sake.

We're screwed.
