Virtual Lego

Like chocolate and peanut butter, waffles and maple syrup, the Mayor and Jessica Alba, some things were just meant to go together.

Like Legos and the Internet.

Those clever Danes have created a free program you can download that allows you to manipulate any shape of Lego brick to build whatever you want. Even cooler, after you're done, you can custom order that set of bricks to build it in real life.

Just think, you could make a Lego model of your house, car or Gwen Stefani. Ooh. Come to think of it, how long do you reckon it will before someone tries to order a Lego Abu Ghraib, Lego Auschwitz, or Lego Columbine?

All for the sake of art, of course. And making the profound metaphorical statement that each of us is just one of an infinite number of interchangeable bricks that are organized by an unseen power into dehumanizing corporate or government structures.

Actually, I predict this will get nipped in the bud as soon as George Lucas finds out that people are recreating royalty-free sets of Luke's home, the Mos Eisley canteen, or an Imperial star destroyer.
