Canned Coffee
Some of you have, for reasons known only to you and God, been fans of a commenter on this blog named David.
Some of you might even recall that David is associated with Chin Music Press, an alliance of shady and suspicious characters whose aim is to undermine the dominant publishing paradigm, namely by printing books of suspiciously high quality and artistic design.
For a while, David ran a weekly canned coffee review column on the Chin Music Press Web site, providing Monday morning warriors with a bracing dose of perveted humor to kick off the week.
A few weeks ago, David mysteriously stopped his Canned Coffee Mondays. The CMP team locked down tighter than Langley, but still word leaked out that a new project was underway. My sources informed me that a whole new Web site dedicated to the art of canned coffee was underway. I was tempted to post about this earlier, but a midnight visit by three masked men wielding rusty cigar clippers convinced that silence is indeed golden, or at least still able to produce offspring.
But now the veil of secrecy has been swept aside. Canned Coffee is live and the world is a more interesting place because of it. Today's inaugural entry on Truman Capote is classic David.
Also be sure to check out the online store, which offers a high-quality PDF of a long booklet of David's insane scribblings and doodles. This intriguing document will surely get lots of press coverage during David's upcoming trial, so be sure to get your piece of history today. It's only $5, and would be a five bucks better spent than the time you got that Haitian hooker. Yeah, we all know how "she" turned out.
Anyway, David's worked long at hard at making this site a reality, and the dude has some mad writing skillz, even if his last name isn't Sedaris or Eggers. Check him out.
