Colts? Bring 'Em On!
I've said it here before and I'll say it again: How 'bout them 'Hawks?
Next week will see the Colts come to Seattle in what many say could be a Super Bowl preview. I rather expect the Seahawks to lose, actually, but I might be wrong.
First, the Colts just lost their first game of the season. That has to deflate some players and rob them of the momentum they will need to beat a scrappy team like Seattle. They showed even they have their weaknesses, and Seattle will be smelling blood. That brings me to point number two:
The Seahawks did not lose. In fact, they have now won 10 straight -- a club record. They are 12-2, and would have the same record as the Colts but for one game. The players are all in top form. On Sunday, Alexander had about 180 yards rushing and another TD. Hasselbeck was 21 for 27 with more than 280 yards passing, a trio of TDs and no interceptions. The receivers all stepped up and made big plays. Not a single team has scored more points than Seattle's 407.
Third, the Colts matchup will be in Seattle's Qwest Field. It is impossible to overstate how pumped up this crowd will be. This team is the best Seattle has fielded in 21 years. Seattle also has a reputation for noise. The concrete Kingdom was one of the loudest stadiums in the nation before it was blowed up. I remember in the '80s the booth guys showing the decible meter regularly hitting around 105-110. Qwest Field is open-air, but it holds more people and is apparently still quite loud. Expect Seattle's 12th man to be a major factor in the upcoming game.
It should be quite a show.
