A Positive Sign In Iraq?

Here's a report on an interesting problem positive development in Iraq.

The story is about Iraq buying 1.2 million tons of Aussie wheat. But the wheat can't get out of the port. Of course we all know what the security situation is like there. Terrorists are attacking anyone suspected of working for the new government or suspected of having dealings with the Coalition.

Oh wait. The problem isn't terrorist attacks on the ports. The problem is striking truck drivers. Apparently Iraq's Transport Ministry wants to hike fees and slap restrictions on private trucks, something that isn't sitting well with the country's truckers.

I cautiously think that might be a sign that the threat of death and destruction is taking a back seat to more common concerns. It certainly jibes with the constant stream of reports saying that life outside the Sunni Triangle is actually fairly normal and does not resemble the carnage seen in daily headlines.
